DescriptionThe whole story

When lap times and race results demand absolute suspension precision, the K-Tech DDS Pro rear shock absorber delivers the five-way adjustability and race-derived damping technology that professionals trust at the British Superbike Championship and the Isle of Man TT. Built specifically for the Aprilia RSV4, RSV4 Factory, RSV4 R and RSV4 RR from 2009 to 2016, this unit translates circuit-proven engineering directly onto your machine.

Key Features

  • Five-way adjustability for comprehensive chassis setup across every track condition
  • 32-click compression damping adjustment for precise control of the compression stroke
  • 32-click rebound damping adjustment for dialling in the return stroke to suit tyre compound and circuit surface
  • 16-click ByPass Valve (BPV) adjustment for fine low-speed damping tuning, directly improving tyre feedback and grip
  • Hydraulic preload adjustment for fast, repeatable spring load changes without spanners
  • Length adjustment to optimise chassis geometry and ride height
  • CNC-machined components manufactured in Great Britain for long-term structural integrity
  • DDS technology with integrated potentiometer mounting points for data acquisition
  • Wide range of spring rates available to match rider weight and riding style

Race-Derived DDS Technology

The DDS Pro platform was developed specifically for professional motorsport competition and has been continuously refined through campaigns at the highest levels of national and international racing. The ByPass Valve system operates independently of the main compression circuit, allowing the rider or technician to tune low-speed damping behaviour without altering the high-speed response. The result is a shock that communicates chassis attitude with outstanding clarity, giving the rider the confidence to carry more corner speed and manage tyre wear over a full race distance.

Construction & Build Quality

Every DDS Pro unit is produced at K-Tech's facility in Great Britain using CNC-machined aluminium components and premium internal parts selected for track durability. The 35 mm body diameter and 12 mm shaft are dimensioned to resist flex under the lateral and longitudinal loads generated during aggressive track use. Mounting eyes at both ends are precision-bored to accept the standard 10 mm bolts used on the Aprilia RSV4 platform, keeping fitment straightforward and eliminating unwanted compliance at the attachment points.

Setup Guidance

K-Tech publishes recommended baseline settings for this application: compression at 10 clicks, rebound at 16 clicks, spring preload at 11 mm and BPV at 8 clicks — providing a calibrated starting point before you fine-tune to circuit and conditions. Installation requires specialised tools and techniques; K-Tech recommends fitting by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre to ensure correct function and maximum safety.
