DescriptionThe whole story▼

The JP ACCGP KT016 fits the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S built between 2017 and 2024, the road-biased, sport-touring version of KTM's biggest adventure platform, built around semi-active suspension and smaller front wheel for quicker handling on tarmac. A sixty-degree throttle rotation suits that sportier, road-focused character.

Key Features

  • KTM 1290 Super Adventure S (2017–2024)
  • GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
  • Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
  • CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
  • Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
  • Standard throttle assembly refits at any time

The Sporty End of a Touring Platform

The S swaps the R's off-road bias and long travel suspension for a smaller front wheel, semi-active damping, and noticeably quicker handling on paved roads, making it closer in character to a sport-tourer than to a dedicated adventure bike. A shorter throttle rotation suits that sportier brief, rewarding quick, precise inputs the way a road-focused chassis invites.

Suspension That Reacts to the Throttle

The S's semi-active suspension adjusts damping partly in response to throttle input, which means an imprecise or over-rotated movement feeds imprecise data into a system meant to react to exactly that. A shorter, more direct rotation gives the electronics a cleaner signal, particularly through the quicker direction changes this chassis is built to handle.

The Biggest Twin, Tuned for Tarmac

This is the same large-displacement LC8 V-twin found in the R, but ridden here through a chassis built for confident cornering on sealed roads rather than loose terrain, and the shorter throttle rotation suits that tarmac-focused use by rewarding quick, accurate inputs over the wider margin for error an off-road setting might favour.

A Spring Tuned for Sport-Touring Pace

Riders pushing the S through a series of fast corners at a sport-touring pace benefit from a different throttle feel than one working loose surfaces at walking speed, and the progressive spring's three external preload settings let an owner firm the return up for a confident, positive feel at speed.

Machined for Consistency on Long, Fast Roads

Built from solid Ergal rather than stamped sheet, the shorter throttle cam holds its geometry across the kind of long, fast road riding the S is built for, where consistent throttle feel over hours in the saddle matters as much as outright precision in a single corner.

A Quick Fit for a Road-Focused Flagship

Installation uses the stock connector and mounting points, finishing with the usual diagnostic throttle position reset, and the standard throttle refits just as easily later if an owner changes their mind, books a service, or the bike is sold on to a different rider.
