DescriptionThe whole story▼

The R9 puts the CP3 triple into a proper sportbike frame, and a triple changes what the clutch hand does. There is enough torque low down to pull away lazily and enough top end to want a clean, deliberate release — the lever has to serve both.

Key Features

  • Milled Gilles face for a secure gloved grip
  • Bolts to the original master cylinder without adapters
  • Reach adjustable through 35 positions, set by hand
  • Central adjuster wheel, reachable from the riding position
  • Folding blade that swings clear instead of snapping off
  • Road legal in Germany under ABE No. KBA 91203

Construction

Solid aluminium, machined and black anodised, pivot bore phosphated as a separate operation. The result is a blade that arrives free of play and stays that way, which on the clutch side matters more than on the brake side simply because the hand works it far more often in a given ride.

Finding the Engagement Point

Thirty-five positions, set with a knurled wheel you can reach without letting go of the bar. On the R9 the useful range is narrow — too close and the friction zone gets cramped, too far and you are opening the hand fully at every junction — so the fine detents earn their keep. Adjust with the engine running, in gear, not on the stand.

Fall Protection

The blade is hinged, so it folds away under impact rather than levering against the perch. The engineered break point stays inside the two-finger zone. Neither feature is glamorous and both are the reason a lever survives the kind of low-speed drop that actually happens.

Road Approval

Approved for German roads under ABE No. KBA 91203. The certificate downloads from this page; print it and keep it with the vehicle papers. No entry and no inspection are required, and the break point must remain unmodified.

Scope of Delivery

One black clutch lever for the R9. The switch actuation transfers from the original lever and is not part of the delivery — do not discard the factory lever until the interlock has been confirmed.
