DescriptionThe whole story▼
The smallest sum of money that buys a genuine autoclave-cured Fullsix part for this motorcycle. It is the upper chain guard, it takes ten minutes to fit, and on a machine where the next cheapest carbon article costs several times as much it is where a lot of owners begin.
Key Features
- Upper chain guard, direct replacement for the standard moulding
- Four versions in 245 Twill: clear coat, matt, raw or twill satin
- Autoclave-cured laminate on the standard bracket geometry
- Two fasteners, no chain adjustment required
- Covers the whole 2023-2026 model run
What Gets Removed With It
Riders taking an M1000RR to a track day usually remove the number plate carrier and the indicators and then discover that the chain guard is the last item still made of painted plastic on the left of the motorcycle. Changing it finishes the job properly, and it stays on for road use afterwards, which the other removed parts do not.
The weight change is trivial and nobody should pretend otherwise. This is a part bought for coherence.
Fitment and Compatibility
BMW M1000RR, model years 2023 through 2026, on the standard swingarm brackets. Fullsix lists the same article for the S1000RR from 2019 onward and for the 2021-onward S1000R.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes no ABE and no EC type-approval number for this article. A listing elsewhere in the trade describes this part as ABE-approved; that claim does not appear in the manufacturer's own data and we do not carry it over. Confirm the position for your own registration before road use.
A Note on Chain Lubricant
Whatever is sprayed onto a chain ends up on the inside of this guard, and an aerosol lubricant sits on lacquer differently from how it sits on plastic. Wiping it while it is still wet takes seconds; leaving it to bake on a warm guard for a week makes it a job. Raw carbon is the most forgiving here, gloss the least.
