DescriptionThe whole story▼
The end cap and the heat shield on this system were designed from scratch for the CB1000 Hornet rather than carried over from another model. On a motorcycle Honda launched in 2025 with a Fireblade-derived engine and a deliberately spare tail, that is the difference between a part that fits and a part that belongs.
Key Features
- Sandblasted high-grade titanium muffler outer sleeve
- Handmade carbon fibre end cap, designed specifically for this motorcycle
- Carbon fibre heat shield protecting the rider's apparel
- Stainless steel link pipe and inner muffler structure
- Shape and contours following Akrapovic's hexagonal design language
- 1.4 PS more at 10,000 rpm and 1.8 Nm more at 6,400 rpm
- 4.9 kg against the standard 5.47 kg — a 0.6 kg saving, stated plainly
- EC and ECE type approved, plug-and-play
Ten Per Cent, and Why That Is the Honest Number
0.6 kg is a modest saving and this page does not dress it up. The CB1000 Hornet's standard silencer is a compact, already reasonably light unit, and a replacement that keeps the same acoustic volume and the same emissions hardware has limited room to remove mass.
What you are buying is the finish, the shape and the sound on a 147 PS naked bike whose whole design points at the exhaust. On a machine with this little bodywork, the silencer is a styling component whether the manufacturer intended it or not.
Hornet, Hornet, and Hornet
Honda currently sells three unrelated motorcycles under this badge: the CB500 Hornet, the CB750 Hornet and this CB1000 Hornet with the four-cylinder engine. They share a name and nothing else that matters when ordering parts.
This silencer is for the CB1000. There is also a CB1000 Hornet SP with different suspension, brakes and exhaust hardware — its part is S-H10SO30-HILT. The two article numbers differ by a single digit, so check the model designation in your registration document before ordering.
Sandblasted, Not Polished
The titanium sleeve is sandblasted rather than left bright. That is a finish decision with a practical side: a matt surface does not show the heat discolouration that bare titanium develops within a season, and it does not carry every fingerprint from moving the bike in a garage.
Against the CB1000 Hornet's dark, sparse bodywork it also reads as part of the motorcycle rather than as a chrome accessory bolted to it.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-H10SO31-HILT covers the Honda CB1000 Hornet for model years 2025 and 2026. Installation is around 30 minutes and the removable noise insert is supplied.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval, with the certificates supplied and downloadable here. The silencer is a legal replacement part for road use in the European Union.
