DescriptionThe whole story▼

Accossato's ceramic racing mixture is also available for the front of the Moto Guzzi Sport 1200 8V. The ZXC ceramic racing version of front pad AGPA96 is designed for competition, and it appeals to track riders who prefer a ceramic pad and like to fine-tune their brakes over a weekend. Accossato lists it for the Sport 1200 8V from 2012 to 2013 and the Sport 1200 8V SE from 2012 to 2015.

Key Features

  • ZXC ceramic racing front pads for the Sport 1200 8V
  • Sport 1200 8V, 2012 to 2013
  • Sport 1200 8V SE, 2012 to 2015
  • Ceramic compound Accossato calls ideal for racing
  • Designed for sustained circuit use
  • Two pads per box
  • Competition only; no German ABE on file

Construction and Material Quality

Ceramic is the key word in this mixture. Accossato presents ZXC as a ceramic compound that is ideal for racing, so its natural habitat is a circuit where the Sport's front discs run hot from the first flying lap to the chequered flag. It sits beside EV2 in the maker's competition range and gives teams a second character to choose from. The company also highlights low wear, limited heat and good fade resistance for its pads.

Fine-Tuning at the Circuit

Track riders adjust their brakes throughout a weekend: lever position, bedding, fluid and pad choice all play a part. With a ceramic racing pad, the Sport 1200 8V's front end can be refined session by session. Clean the pistons when the pads come out, check the discs for glazing and record how the brake felt at each marker.

Road riders will find the OR and ST versions of this plate more appropriate, with EV1 as a middle ground.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the ZXC version of AGPA96 for the Sport 1200 8V from 2012 to 2013 and the Sport 1200 8V SE from 2012 to 2015. The Sport has twin front calipers, so a full set takes two boxes. The rear is covered by Accossato AGPA29, listed from 2012 to 2015, and Accossato's disc DKS032 is catalogued for this model too. Before fitting, clean the caliper pistons and inspect the discs.

Road Approval

We have not been provided with a German ABE or approval documents for this pad, so it is intended for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery
