DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Triumph Sprint GT 1050 is in its element on a long European tour: hard cases packed, a passenger on the back and a route that climbs over several Alpine passes. Weather in the mountains changes fast, and the front brakes have to work just as well in rain and cold as on a hot descent. Accossato lists the AGPA58 front pad for the Sprint GT 1050 and GT SE with ABS from 2010 to 2015, and this Sintered (ST) version is intended for exactly that kind of touring.

Key Features

  • Sintered (ST) front pads, article AGPA58ST
  • For the Triumph Sprint GT 1050 and GT SE ABS, 2010 to 2015
  • For loaded touring, mountain passes and rain
  • Accossato promises steady grip at all temperatures and in the wet
  • Two pads per box; two boxes for both front calipers
  • Also available in OR, EV1 and EV2

Construction and Material Quality

The sintered ST compound in the AGPA58 range is designed, according to Accossato, to keep a high and consistent grip level at both low and high temperatures and to perform well on wet discs. On a loaded sport-tourer descending a pass in changeable weather, that consistency lets the rider brake with confidence at every hairpin. Accossato also designs its pads for long life and good resistance to fade.

Alpine Tour with Hard Cases

A heavily loaded Sprint GT 1050 on a long descent asks a lot of its front brakes. Rather than dragging the brakes all the way down, use engine braking in a lower gear and apply the brakes firmly but briefly before each bend. That keeps temperatures under control. In the wet, brake earlier and more gently, and avoid painted lines. Before the tour, check pad thickness on both front calipers, change the fluid if it is due, and make sure the tyres are suited to the load.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's list covers the Triumph Sprint 1050 GT and the Sprint 1050 GT SE, both with ABS, from 2010 to 2015, for this AGPA58 front pad. There are two front calipers, so two boxes renew the front. The rear pad for the same bikes is the AGPA76, and Accossato also catalogues the DK132 disc. The AGPA58 also comes as Organic, EV1 and EV2.

Road Approval

This sintered pad has no German ABE, and we have not received a road approval document. We supply it for circuit and competition use.
