DescriptionThe whole story▼
Ordering a brake lever for a CRF150F looks simple until you see the list. Accossato names three replacement brake levers for Honda's small trail bike, all of them silver and all for the same span of 2003 to 2017, and the model year alone does not tell you which one matches yours. The answer lies on the bike itself, in the outline of the lever that is fitted now. The AGD278 is one of the three: a silver replacement brake lever in the original form for the CRF150F.
Key Features
- Original-form replacement brake lever for the Honda CRF150F
- Accossato lists it for 2003 to 2017, split into 2003 to 2005 and 2006 to 2017
- Silver
- Right-hand lever, front brake
- Part of Accossato's range of value-for-money spares
- According to Accossato, the way it is made improves resistance after damage or a fall
- A single lever
- No German ABE or test mark available; listed for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Like the other two options, the AGD278 is a spare of the original type, which means it takes up the form of a lever Honda used rather than reinventing it. Accossato developed its replacement levers to give good value for money and says that its production method leaves them more resistant after damage or a crash. The colour is silver. What the company does not publish are dimensions, weights or materials, and that is precisely why the comparison described below matters more than any data sheet.
Tracing the Old Lever
Take the fitted lever off the CRF150F, or photograph it squarely from above with the bars pointing straight ahead and a ruler lying beside it for scale. Laying a removed lever on a sheet of white paper and drawing round it with a sharp pencil gives you a clear outline to work with. Look first at the overall curve: some brake levers bend gently along their whole length, others run straight and then kink towards the tip. Then study the end near the pivot, where the lever meets the master cylinder, because that area decides whether a lever will sit and work correctly. Hold your tracing or photo next to the product pictures of all three candidates and look for the one whose outline matches. If the old lever is broken, the piece still on the bike shows the pivot end, which is the most telling part anyway. Still unsure? Send us a photo before ordering. Whichever lever it turns out to be, grease the pivot sparingly when you fit it, and check that the brake bites cleanly and the lever returns fully before the next ride.
Fitment and Compatibility
All three replacement brake levers Accossato lists for the CRF150F, the AGD275, the AGD278 and the AGD93, cover 2003 to 2017, so the shape comparison above is the way to choose. At Inter-Pace the AGD278 is also listed for several TM Racing two-strokes, among them the EN 125 2T and the MX 250 2T. On the left side of the CRF150F, the original-type clutch lever is the AGS196. Accossato's CNC levers for this bike, B8206 for the brake and C7103 for the clutch, are the alternative for anyone who wants a tuning part.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE and no test mark for the AGD278, because no approval documents for it are available to us. We list it for racing and competition use.
