DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Accossato Ready To Brake 19x18 is a radial brake master cylinder built around a shark-shaped body and an integrated micro-switch, designed to cut the dead stroke of the braking process down with no adjustment needed. The 19 mm piston suits dual-disc front brake systems, while the fixed 18 mm pivot distance is tuned for track use and is also recommended on the road. The folding lever is offered in seven colours, letting the lever match the rest of the motorcycle.

Key Features

  • 19 mm piston diameter, suitable for dual-disc braking systems
  • 18 mm lever pivot distance for track use, also recommended for street riding
  • Folding lever, long version, with relieving eyelet (RST), available in seven colours
  • Integrated micro-switch for the brake light, built into the unit
  • Offset fixing riser with a quick-release jumper to speed up servicing
  • Shark-shaped body that gives the master cylinder its distinct profile
  • Stainless steel mounting screws and a zinc-plated bleed valve
  • Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material

Construction and Material Quality

Like the rest of the Accossato radial brake range, the Ready To Brake master cylinder is fully made in Italy and CNC machined from aluminium. The screws are stainless steel, the bleed valve is zinc-plated steel, and the internal seals are made from Formula 1 compound so they continue to seal reliably through repeated heat cycles and brake fluid exposure. The fixing riser is offset to reduce bending of the master cylinder body while the brake is applied, and it also carries a quick-release jumper, which lets the unit be removed from the clamp for servicing without disturbing the hose connection.

What Makes the Ready To Brake Design Different

Accossato describes this unit as the evolution of its existing master cylinder range because the passive stroke of the braking process, the small amount of lever travel before the pads actually start to bite, is cut down across the board without the rider needing to make any adjustment. That shorter dead stroke is paired with an integrated micro-switch that handles the brake light function inside the body itself, rather than as a separate stop light switch fitted elsewhere on the lever assembly, while the overall unit still keeps a light weight. The 19 mm piston diameter is specified for dual-disc front brake systems, where more fluid needs to move to apply two callipers evenly, and the 18 mm pivot distance gives a lever feel suited to both circuit and road use.

Fitment and Compatibility

This master cylinder is listed against 76 motorcycles in our fitment data, covering Aprilia, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki model ranges, including the Aprilia RSV4 1100 (2019-2023), Ducati Panigale V4 (2000-2024), Honda CB1000R (2008-2023), Kawasaki ZX-10 R (2006-2023) and Suzuki GSX-R 1000 (2001-2023). The full list of confirmed motorcycles, with exact model years, is published in the Fitment tab on this page; please check it against your own registration before ordering.

Road Approval

This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

The package includes the Accossato Ready To Brake 19x18 radial brake master cylinder with the integrated micro-switch, fitted with a long folding lever and relieving eyelet (RST) in the colour selected, plus the matching mounting nut. Stainless steel mounting screws, the zinc-plated bleed valve and the Formula 1 compound seals are assembled on the unit. The fluid reservoir is not included and must be purchased separately.
