DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Yamaha MT-07 spends most of its life doing ordinary things: the ride to work, the loop through town to the shops, the evening run to a friend's house. Accossato's AGPA97OR is a front pad for exactly that routine, fitted to the parallel-twin naked from 2014 to 2026 and made in the Organic (OR) compound. It suits the rider who stops at a hundred traffic lights before stopping hard even once, and who would rather keep the front discs in good shape for years than chase the last scrap of bite.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Yamaha MT-07, model years 2014 to 2026
- Article AGPA97OR: the AGPA97 outline in the Organic (OR) compound
- Accossato describes the compound as long-lasting and gentle on the disc
- Suited to commuting, town riding and low-speed stops from cold
- Two pads per box, enough for one front caliper
- The MT-07 has twin front discs, so a full front change needs two boxes
- The same outline is catalogued as ST, EV1, EV2 and ZXC
- No German ABE on file; offered for track and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato makes the AGPA97 outline in several friction materials and gives each one its own article number. This box holds the organic version, and the company's summary of it is brief: it keeps working for a long time and it goes easy on the disc it rubs against. For a bike that clocks up short trips rather than fast laps, that is a sensible trade. Accossato also speaks of steady output with limited heat build-up, which matters little in traffic but explains why the pad wears slowly.
Stop, Start, Repeat
Urban riding asks a front brake for many small favours rather than a few big ones. On an MT-07 the lever gets squeezed at every crossing, every bus stop and every car that pulls out without looking, usually at modest speed and often before the pads have seen any real warmth. An organic pad is at home in that pattern: it responds quietly, it does not need heat to feel alive, and it wears the disc less than harder materials would over thousands of short stops. Riders who use the MT-07 as a daily tool, or schools that run a fleet of them for new licence holders, tend to value that calm, predictable feel. The trade-off is simple to state. If the bike later starts visiting a circuit, a firmer compound from the same range will make more sense, and swapping is a matter of a different article number rather than different parts.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA97 for the front of the Yamaha MT-07 from 2014 through to 2026, and the rear wheel of the same bike takes the AGPP88. Because the MT-07 carries a caliper on each of its two front discs, plan on two boxes and change both sides at once so the axle brakes evenly. Before the new pads go in, clean the pistons and push them back gently, measure the discs, and check the fluid in the reservoir. The DK077 and DKS073 discs are also listed for this model if the old ones are past their limit. Afterwards, pump the lever until it is firm and bed the pads in with a series of calm stops.
Road Approval
We hold no German ABE, test report or approval mark for this pad. The AGPA97OR is therefore sold for racing and competition purposes.
Scope of Delivery
One box with two Accossato AGPA97 pads in the Organic (OR) compound, the set for a single front caliper of the MT-07.
