DescriptionThe whole story▼

A long day in the saddle leaves less patience for fiddly adjustments than a short local ride does, and some 300 EXC owners deliberately keep the back end of the bike as simple as possible for exactly that reason, setting chain tension the stock way rather than adding another part to think about mid-ride. Accossato's RTM1 fits that approach, replacing the rear axle blocks on the 300 EXC built between 2000 and 2018 without a built-in adjusting screw.

Key Features

  • Rear axle blocks for the KTM 300 EXC, 2000 to 2018
  • Accossato code RTM1, one pair, left and right
  • Chain tension set the stock way, with no built-in adjusting screw
  • Orange, black or silver
  • Also listed for a wide run of Husqvarna four-strokes on this swingarm
  • Accossato's RCM1 covers the same bike with an adjusting screw, for riders who prefer that method
  • No German ABE on file; built for off-road and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

The RTM1 pair fits in the same slot as the stock blocks, leaving chain tension to the usual nut and marks on the swingarm. Orange, black or silver cover the available finishes, usually chosen to suit the rest of the bike. A block worn down unevenly or showing a deep scrape after hard trail use is worth replacing rather than left in place.

Keeping the Back End Simple on a Long Day

A day-long trail ride already asks a rider to think about fuel, water, navigation and fatigue without adding more to the list, and some owners prefer a bike with fewer small parts that could need attention out on the trail, even if that means a slightly more deliberate process back in the workshop. The RTM1 suits that preference exactly, swapping a tired or damaged axle block for a fresh one without changing how tension has always been set on this bike. For a rider who already knows the stock method well, there is nothing gained from a feature that only adds a decision to make later.

Fitment and Compatibility

The RTM1 shares its application window with the RCM1 on this bike, both running from 2000 to 2018 for the 300 EXC. A number of Husqvarna four-strokes built on the same swingarm take the identical block. Checking the exact frame year against Accossato's list remains worth doing before ordering, given how long this window runs.

Road Approval

Accossato lists no German ABE for the RTM1, so the blocks are intended for off-road and competition use rather than for use on public roads.
