DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Triumph Bonneville T120 is a road bike first, yet some owners of the 2021 to 2023 model enjoy the gravel lanes, forest tracks and dusty farm roads that link the tarmac together. Accossato offers its AGPA29 front pad in the Off-road sintered compound, known as STMX, and it lists this plate for the later T120. It is an unusual choice for a classic roadster, and it makes sense only for riders who regularly take the bike onto loose, dirty surfaces.

Key Features

  • AGPA29 front pads for the Triumph Bonneville T120, 2021 to 2023
  • STMX compound, SKU AGPA29STMX
  • Accossato: developed for riders who leave the tarmac
  • Suited to dust, mud and gritty spray
  • A specialist option on a road-going twin
  • Consider it only if unpaved tracks are part of your riding
  • Same plate also made as OR, ST and EV1
  • No German test documents, sold for competition

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato presents STMX as its compound for off-road riders. It was conceived for motorcycles whose brakes spend the day covered in sand, dust and water, where pads must keep working despite contamination. On a T120 that is ridden mostly on smooth roads it brings no particular advantage, so this pad is really for the owner whose weekends include long stretches of loose surface.

A Heavy Twin on Gravel

Riding a big classic twin on gravel is slow, careful work. The front brake is used gently and often, dust settles on the disc and every puddle sends muddy water over the caliper. Those are the conditions the STMX mixture was made for. If your T120 regularly heads down unmade lanes to a campsite, or follows old drove roads across the hills, this pad is worth considering. If most of your riding is on tarmac, the other compounds on this plate will suit you better.

Cleaning After a Dirty Ride

After a day on dusty or muddy tracks, rinse the caliper gently and let it dry. Grit between pad and disc speeds up wear, so check both after every outing. When fitting new pads, clean the pistons before pushing them back, check the fluid, pump the lever until it is firm and bed the pads in on a clean road.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA29 for the front of the Bonneville 1200 T120 from 2021 to 2023. The earlier T120 from 2016 to 2020 uses AGPA72 at the front, and AGPA76 is the rear pad for the T120 from 2016 to 2023. Accossato also lists the DK203 disc for this bike. Please check how many front calipers your T120 has, since one box covers one caliper.

Road Approval

We have no ABE or German test mark for AGPA29STMX. It is offered for competition and off-road use away from public roads.

Scope of Delivery

Two STMX front pads for a single caliper.
