DescriptionThe whole story▼
Ferry to Bergen, two weeks of fjord roads, rain on most days and a fully loaded bike: that is the kind of journey the Kawasaki Versys 1000 was built for. For the 2019 to 2024 model, with or without ABS, Accossato lists the AGPA109 front pad in the Sintered mixture. It is meant for long-distance riders who cover big mileages in all seasons and want the front brake to feel the same on a wet ferry ramp as on a dry mountain road.
Key Features
- Front pads AGPA109 for the Kawasaki Versys 1000, 2019 to 2024
- Listed for the ABS version too
- Sintered mixture, SKU AGPA109ST
- Accossato: grip stays high and even from cold to hot
- Confident on rain-soaked roads
- Suits long trips with heavy luggage
- EV1, EV2 and ZXC also exist on this plate
- No ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's claim for this recipe is about steadiness. It speaks of a high friction level that holds whether the pad is cold or hot, and of reliable grip when the disc is wet. On a Versys 1000 that may start a day in fog and end it in sunshine, that consistency is exactly what a travelling rider wants from the front brake. The company adds that restricting heat helps its pads avoid fade. The sintered block is attached to the regular AGPA109 plate.
Weeks on the Road
A long trip exposes the front brake to everything: road spray, grit from roadworks, cold mornings and long descents with the weight of luggage pushing forward. A tall adventure-style tourer also dives noticeably under hard stops. A compound that grips the same way whatever the conditions lets the rider concentrate on the road instead of recalibrating the lever every morning.
Pack a torch and look at the pads during fuel stops every few days. If the trip is long, start with fresh pads and fresh fluid rather than hoping the old ones will last. After a day of heavy rain, a quick rinse of the calipers with clean water keeps road dirt from building up.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato assigns AGPA109 to the front of the Versys 1000 built from 2019 to 2024, including the ABS variant. Its list also names AGPA75 as a front pad for 2012 to 2021, so owners of a 2019 to 2021 bike should compare the pads in their calipers before choosing. At the rear, AGPP88 covers 2012 to 2024. No Accossato disc is listed for the bike in our data. Two calipers sit on the front wheel and one box covers one of them, so the front takes two boxes.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or German approval certificate for AGPA109ST in our files. It is offered for track use.
Scope of Delivery
