DescriptionThe whole story▼
Some Triumph Thunderbird Storm owners ride the big cruiser harder than its looks suggest, carving along country roads on a Saturday morning with friends. For them Accossato offers AGPA58EV1, the front pad for the Storm from 2011 to 2018 in the EV1 street/track compound. It has a more direct, stronger bite than the touring pads, which helps when you arrive at a bend with a lot of weight and speed, and it can also handle an amateur trackday.
Key Features
- Front pads AGPA58 for the Triumph Thunderbird Storm, 2011 to 2018
- EV1 street/track compound, SKU AGPA58EV1
- Accossato: excellent grip for road riding and amateur track use
- Direct response at the lever
- Suits group rides on winding roads
- Can handle an amateur trackday
- OR, ST and EV2 exist on this pad too
- No approval papers on file; competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato positions EV1 street/track as a mixture with strong grip on the road that is also suitable for amateur circuit use. For the Storm this means a lever that produces a firm response early in its travel. The maker also designs its pads to limit fade through controlled temperatures and to wear at a moderate rate, which is useful when you brake hard and often.
Saturday Group Ride
Riding a heavy cruiser briskly in a group is a test of the front brake. Every bend on a twisty road means shedding speed from a big machine, and on a long day that happens hundreds of times. EV1 is designed for this committed rider. It gives a clear, immediate response that makes it easier to judge each stop. The compound still works on the ride out and home, so you do not need a different pad for the road.
Stopping a Long Cruiser
Long wheelbase and limited ground clearance mean most of the hard stopping should be done upright. Brake early and firmly, then release before leaning.
Fitment and Compatibility
AGPA58 covers the front of the Storm from 2011 up to 2018 according to Accossato, and AGPA92 is offered for the rear of the same bike. One box supplies one caliper. Check the number of front calipers on your Storm before ordering, replace pads per axle and bed them in with a set of progressive stops.
Road Approval
AGPA58EV1 has no ABE and no test mark in our files. It is offered for motorsport and competition.
