DescriptionThe whole story

Upright, unfaired and quick: the MV Agusta Brutale 800 loads its front end in a way a fairing would soften. The Brutale 800 takes the B002: a 8.5 mm stack of ceramic-sintered material across 75.5 by 55.0 mm. EXR is new for 2026 and succeeds EXC Endurance rather than sitting beside it in the B002.

Key Features

  • One pack holds the two pads for a single caliper - a Brutale 800 with twin front discs therefore needs two packs
  • Wear indicator geometry unchanged from the standard Brembo pad, so the usual inspection still applies on the Brutale 800
  • Part number Z-B002-EXR, EAN 4950545771766
  • Runs cooler at the disc than a conventional sinter, because the ceramic film it forms carries part of the load on the Brutale 800
  • Tested and specified for the 2013 to 2024 model years of the MV Agusta Brutale 800, not extrapolated from a neighbouring year
  • The friction material and the B002 plate are made in the same Japanese plant

Construction and Material Quality

The B002 is made by Okada Corporation in Japan. On a 75.5 by 55.0 mm face the backing plate decides whether the pad wears evenly or takes on a taper. None of it is visible once the B002 is in the Brembo caliper, which is precisely the point.

Performance and Feel

EXC Endurance was built for race distance and behaved like it: strong once hot, vague before. EX Race is the control mixture; EXR takes the harder bite EXC was known for and rebuilds the progressiveness around it. Which matters most on a Brutale 800, where the rider's own weight is part of the braking load.

Fitment and Compatibility

Listed by ZCOO for the MV Agusta Brutale 800, model years 2013 to 2024, on the Brembo caliper. The B002 fits the front axle of the Brutale 800 and nothing else. The same B002 shape covers 75 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 75.5 mm length and 55.0 mm height.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
