The facts.
DescriptionThe whole story▼
Consumables disappear before motorcycles do. A model leaves production, a supersession notice appears, and the part becomes something you chase through forums. The PM155S steps around that twice over: it is washable, so it never needs reordering, and it is specified against thirteen different machines from two brands, which is the sort of volume that keeps a part number alive. For a 790 Adventure meant to be kept, both matter.
Key Features
- One code serving thirteen KTM and Husqvarna models across a wide span of years
- Washed and refitted rather than replaced, so no reordering cycle exists
- Dry polyester at 80 microns, never oiled and never treated
- Filtering area roughly doubled against other performance elements for this housing
- Fits the standard airbox as delivered: no modification, no remap
- Two years of warranty, counted from purchase
Why one code covers so many machines
An element is specified against a cavity, not against an engine. KTM used this airbox across the middleweight and large adventure range and the big Super Duke twins, and Husqvarna used it on the 701 singles and the Norden. Displacements from 700 to 1290 appear on the list. What they have in common is a box of the same internal dimensions, and that is the only thing a filter needs to share with a motorcycle.
The long-ownership case
The 790 Adventure has been listed on this code since 2019 and remains on it. A bike bought new in that first year is well into second ownership now, and everything about keeping it running is easier if the maintenance parts are common ones. A washable panel is the extreme version of common: bought once, cleaned indefinitely, never subject to a stock-out. It does not make the machine faster — nothing fitted inside a sealed standard airbox does — but it takes one line off the list of things that can become difficult in ten years.
Care and cleaning
Compressed air on the clean face, moving outwards, clears normal road and trail dust. For a heavier load: warm water, a mild detergent, thorough rinsing, then drying in moving air until nothing is damp. No heat, no flame, no shortcuts. The panel is refitted dry and untreated. Sprint Filter's illustrated maintenance sheet, showing every stage of that, is one of the files in the Downloads tab of this page.
Fitment & Compatibility
Catalogued for the KTM 790 Adventure, including the L and R versions, from 2019 to 2026. The Fitment tab lists the twelve other machines this element covers, each with its own build years.
