DescriptionThe whole story▼
Forged from premium magnesium by OZ's SBK Racing division, the Cattiva wheel set represents the pinnacle of Italian wheel engineering for the BMW M1000RR K66. As the lightest wheel in the entire OZ range, the Cattiva is built exclusively for track use — where reducing rotating mass translates directly into sharper turn-in, faster acceleration and heightened agility at race speeds.
Key Features
- Forged magnesium construction: the lightest wheel OZ produces, delivering a meaningful reduction in unsprung and rotating mass for immediate handling gains.
- Developed by OZ's SBK Racing department: the Cattiva design is born from top-level superbike competition, not adapted from a road wheel.
- Direct replacement fitment: the set exchanges directly with the original BMW M1000RR K66 factory wheels — no fabrication or modification required.
- Complete track-ready package: includes front and rear wheels, high-quality bearings, aluminium angle valves and spacers (fitted as required).
- Rear sprocket carrier included: a dedicated carrier is supplied as standard; note that the original BMW rear sprocket is not compatible and must be replaced.
- Made in Italy: manufactured to OZ's exacting quality standards, balancing race-level performance with long-term durability.
Build Quality and Materials
The Cattiva's forged magnesium structure sets it apart from cast aluminium alternatives. Magnesium alloy offers an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, and the forging process aligns the grain structure of the metal for superior fatigue resistance under the cyclic stresses of repeated braking and cornering on circuit. Every detail — from the precision-machined spoke geometry to the quality bearings included in the set — reflects the manufacturing discipline expected of a wheel designed for outright competition.
Performance on Track
Reducing rotating mass at the wheel has a compounding effect on motorcycle dynamics. The BMW M1000RR K66 already responds with precision, but fitting the Cattiva set sharpens that response further: the engine needs less effort to accelerate the wheel, braking distances can tighten as deceleration forces act on lighter rims, and mid-corner balance improves as gyroscopic forces are reduced. For riders pushing the M1000RR to its limits on circuit, these gains are tangible lap after lap.
Fitment and Compatibility
These wheels are designed exclusively for the BMW M1000RR K66 spanning model years 2021 to 2026. They are not compatible with any other BMW model or variant. The included rear sprocket carrier is required for correct installation; the original BMW rear sprocket must be replaced as it is not compatible with the Cattiva hub design.
