Function
At 1.5 mm, 20 mm it fits one position only; the next size up carries a different number. A leaking damper is not a cosmetic problem: it is a damper that has stopped controlling the wheel. Öhlins builds the head so the dust seal takes the grit before it reaches the oil seal. Seal kits gather the pieces one rebuild needs, which avoids a second order mid-job.

How to Be Sure It Fits
If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 05619-01. Check inner diameter 1.5 mm, outer diameter 20 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. Dust seals keep grit off the running surface; once they are torn, the oil seal behind them has a short life. A seal that has taken a set no longer springs back and starts to weep.
