Function
At 10 mm, 25 mm it fits one position only; the next size up carries a different number. Port area and shim seat geometry decide the damping curve before any adjuster is touched. Piston bands are consumables — they wear against the bore and lose their seal gradually. Replacing a piston is a workshop job because the shim stack has to be rebuilt in the correct order.
