At the distance a driver actually makes the decision — fifty metres or more, in peripheral vision, while also tracking a car and a cyclist — the second is meaningfully harder to miss, because there is no large dark area for the eye to lose the shape in. Compared with the Grid matt hi-vis at the same price, this is the more complete version of the idea, and the gloss finish also gets slightly more brilliance out of the pigment than a matt coat does. 🔵 Two honest costs. It is the loudest finish here by a distance and it will not suit everyone. And fluorescent pigment fades under sustained ultraviolet over years, so store it in a garage rather than a window — which on a carbon shell is good practice regardless. If you are weighing this against the Grid matt hi-vis at the same price, this is the more effective of the two and the Grid is the more restrained.
