DescriptionThe whole story▼

The 599 cc of a CBR 600 RR is irrelevant the moment it leans past the side stand. LighTech's WAPHO401 pairs a screen-printed nylon shell with a coloured Ergal core and weighs 200 g. It is offered in 2 colours: Black, Red. LighTech supplies it for the CBR 600 RR complete, so no separate hardware order is needed.

Key Features

  • Coloured Ergal insert inside the WAPHO401 — light, strong, renewable on its own
  • The WAPHO401 stands proud of the axle nut, which is the whole mechanism
  • Fitting the WAPHO401 to a CBR 600 RR is measured in minutes, not hours
  • Built as a wear part: on the CBR 600 RR you renew the sliding surface, not the mount
  • The insert changes without pulling the axle out of the CBR 600 RR
  • Bolts to the standard CBR 600 RR fixing points — no drilling, no adapter plates
  • CNC-machined rather than cast, so the WAPHO401 mating faces stay true on the CBR 600 RR

Why an Axle Slider Works

Protection here is a matter of millimetres — the slider has to reach past the axle nut. LighTech's answer on the WAPHO401 is a two-material build: nylon that flexes, Ergal that holds. At 200 g the WAPHO401 is lighter than the fasteners it replaces on some machines.

How It Is Built

The outer body of the WAPHO401 is nylon, chosen for elasticity rather than hardness. The coloured core is Ergal, light enough not to matter on the CBR 600 RR and strong enough to hold. Because the insert is a separate item, a scuffed WAPHO401 is rebuilt rather than replaced.

Compatibility and Installation

Fitment is the Honda CBR 600 RR, 2007 to 2026. No modification to the CBR 600 RR is involved — the standard points take the kit.

What Is in the Box

LighTech packs the WAPHO401 with everything the CBR 600 RR axles need and nothing they do not. LighTech keeps the WAPHO401 in its spare parts programme rather than treating it as disposable.

Installation

The WAPHO401 goes onto the CBR 600 RR with the bike on a stand and nothing dismantled. Set the standoff with the supplied spacers rather than carrying a figure over from another Honda. The WAPHO401 comes in 2 finishes — Black, Red — and the colour makes no difference to the fit on the CBR 600 RR.

Road Approval

We list the WAPHO401 without an approval claim because LighTech supplies none. The decision on a road-legal CBR 600 RR belongs to your inspection body. Check with your inspection body if the CBR 600 RR sees public roads. For circuit use the point is moot.
