Ergal is the trade name for a high-tensile aluminium alloy widely used in motorsport components precisely because it combines low mass with excellent resistance to mechanical stress and elevated temperatures. LighTech machines the OIL111 from billet Ergal on multi-axis CNC equipment, producing a cap whose thread geometry is tight enough to seat instantly and whose body will not distort under the heat cycles a Panigale V4 generates at race pace. The laser-engraved logo is recessed into the surface, so it survives trackside cleaning and repeated reinstallation without fading or peeling.
Safety Wiring at the Track
Many track day organisers and all serious circuit racing regulations require oil filler caps to be safety-wired. The OIL111 carries three precision-drilled holes positioned symmetrically around the cap body — thread your wire through any two opposing holes and you meet those requirements without adapters or workarounds. It is a small detail, but it is the difference between a cap that is track-legal and one that is not.
