That is the job of the CARY0950: autoclave carbon, 154 g, shaped to the frame of the R7. LighTech supplies it for the R7 complete, so no separate hardware order is needed.

Key Features

LighTech part number CARY0950, catalogued for the Yamaha R7

Sold as a pair, covering both frame flanks of the R7

The weave on the CARY0950 is structural, not a decorative overlay

Anodised to LighTech's standard finish across the whole CARY0950

Designed around the R7 specifically rather than adapted from another model

154 g for the complete CARY0950 kit

The CARY0950 adds 154 g to a R7 and changes nothing about how it steers

How It Is Built

Autoclave processing gives the CARY0950 its resistance; the weave is the visible part of that. At 154 g the pair adds less to the R7 than the fasteners it replaces. Cleaning asks only for a neutral detergent; solvents will dull the lacquer.

Carbon, and What It Buys

Carbon is chosen here for stiffness per gram, not for the weave pattern. The CARY0950 is laid up and cured under pressure, which is where the stiffness comes from. Installation is usually silicone at the contact points rather than drilling the R7.

Fitment and Compatibility

The CARY0950 is catalogued by LighTech for the Yamaha R7 and nothing else in this listing. Nothing on the R7 has to be cut; the kit bolts to what is there.

Fitting

Everything the R7 installation needs comes with the CARY0950. Check the clearance to R7 bodywork once fitted — spacers are included precisely for that. The R7 kit is Natural; LighTech does not list an alternative for the CARY0950.

Scope of Delivery

Two pieces at 154 g total — the CARY0950 covers left and right of the R7 together. A worn CARY0950 is renewed at the element, not at the kit.

Type Approval

There is no type-approval certificate for the CARY0950 and we do not claim one. For a R7 with a registration plate, the fitted position is worth clarifying in advance. We would rather you asked first than discovered it at the inspection.

Specifications

Brand: LighTech

Part number: CARY0950

Type: Carbon frame protection, pair

Material: Autoclave-cured carbon

Finish: Gloss

Supplied as: Pair

Finish: Natural

Weight: 154 g

Fitment: Yamaha R7 (2026)

Road approval: None supplied
