DescriptionThe whole story▼

Owners who take a 2022 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR to the circuit regularly, or prepare one for club events, will want to experiment with brake materials front and rear. Accossato offers the AGPA42 rear pad for this model in the ZXC ceramic racing compound. It is a racing material, meant for closed circuits, and is judged by testing: fitting it for a day, collecting the rider's impressions and comparing them with the pads used before.

Key Features

  • ZXC ceramic racing compound, article AGPA42ZXC
  • Rear position, Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR, 2022
  • For circuit use and racing
  • Accossato calls it a ceramic compound ideal for racing
  • Two pads in the box, one rear caliper
  • Also listed as OR and ST

Construction and Material Quality

ZXC is the ceramic compound in Accossato's racing range. The company describes it as ideal for racing and does not publish technical details, so we do not add any. Like all Accossato materials, it aims for low wear, limited heat build-up with reduced fade, and strong braking. On the rear of a sporty triple, the rear brake is used for stability on corner entry and for small speed corrections, and consistent feel matters more than outright power.

Rear Brake on Circuit

On a track, many riders use the rear brake lightly as they tip into a corner to keep the bike settled. Others use it to control wheelies on corner exit. Both techniques rely on a predictable pedal. When testing the ZXC pads on the Speed Triple 1200 RR, bed them in during the first laps, then gradually introduce the rear into your riding. Note how it responds, and check the pads and disc at the end of each session. Keep the old pads in case you want to switch back.

Fitment and Compatibility

The AGPA42 is catalogued by Accossato for the rear of the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR, model year 2022. One box renews the single rear caliper. We have no other Accossato pad or disc listed for this model. For road riding, the AGPA42 is also available in Organic and Sintered.

Road Approval

There is no ABE for this ceramic pad and no road approval document on our file. It is sold for racing and track use.

Scope of Delivery

Two Accossato AGPA42 rear pads in the ZXC ceramic racing compound, one set for the rear caliper.
