DescriptionThe whole story▼

A Kawasaki EN 650 Vulcan S loaded with saddlebags for a week away is a different machine from the one that pops to the shops. On long trips with luggage, the rear brake takes a bigger share of the work, especially on wet mountain roads. Accossato's AGPP88 rear pad in Sintered mixture fits the Vulcan S from 2015 to 2026 and is meant for touring riders who want a rear brake that responds the same in any weather.

Key Features

  • Rear pads AGPP88 for the Kawasaki EN 650 Vulcan S, 2015 to 2026
  • Sintered mixture, SKU AGPP88ST
  • Accossato quotes a high grip level held across temperatures
  • Good wet grip, according to the maker
  • Suits luggage, pillion and long descents
  • Fits the Vulcan S SE of 2017 and 2018 as well
  • Also offered as OR
  • No ABE on file; track use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato says its Sintered compound maintains a high and stable grip level at both low and high temperatures, and that it grips well in the rain. For a touring Vulcan S, the benefit is a rear pedal that feels the same whether the brake is cold after a motorway stretch or warm after a series of hairpins. The company adds that its pads wear slowly, resist fading through limited heat build-up and give strong stopping power. The mixture is carried on the AGPP88 plate.

Luggage, Passes and Rain

Loaded with bags and perhaps a passenger, a Vulcan S carries more weight over the rear wheel, and many riders use the rear brake more heavily as a result. On an alpine descent in the rain, a rear pad with consistent grip lets the rider shed speed smoothly before each bend without surprises at the pedal.

Before a long trip, check rear pad depth and disc condition, top up or replace the fluid if needed and make sure the caliper slides are clean. After riding through rain and road dirt, rinse the rear caliper and let it dry before parking the bike for the night.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato catalogues AGPP88 for the rear of the Kawasaki EN 650 Vulcan S from 2015 to 2026, including the Vulcan S SE of 2017 and 2018. We have no further Accossato pads or discs listed for this model. One box fits the single rear caliper.

Road Approval

AGPP88ST has no ABE or German test certificate in our hands. It is offered for competition purposes.

Scope of Delivery
