DescriptionThe whole story▼
Many earlier Triumph Speedmaster cruisers, the 800 of 2003 and 2004 and the 900 of 2005 to 2015, are still used as everyday transport, ridden in rain and cold as well as on sunny weekends. For owners who ride all year, Accossato lists the AGPA72 front pad in the Sintered (ST) compound. It is designed to give a consistent lever feel from a frosty morning to a warm afternoon, and to grip reliably when water covers the disc.
Key Features
- Sintered (ST) front pads, Accossato AGPA72ST
- For the Triumph Speedmaster 800 (2003 to 2004) and 900 (2005 to 2015)
- For all-year riding, cold and rain
- Accossato promises high, stable grip at all temperatures and in the wet
- Two pads per box, one caliper
- Also available as OR, EV1 and EV2
Construction and Material Quality
This sintered version of the AGPA72 is, according to Accossato, designed to maintain a high and consistent grip level at low and high temperatures and to perform well on wet discs. For an older cruiser ridden in all weathers, predictable braking is the main goal, and the sintered compound provides it. Accossato also aims for long life and resistance to fade.
A Cruiser in the Wet
A heavy cruiser on a wet road needs smooth inputs. Sudden braking can unsettle the bike, and painted lines, metal covers and diesel spills become slippery. On the Speedmaster, brake early, squeeze the lever progressively and use the rear brake as well. A sintered pad that responds predictably when wet makes this easier. In winter, clean the calipers regularly to prevent corrosion, and check that the pads move freely.
Seasonal Check
In spring, inspect the pads and disc, and replace the brake fluid if it has not been changed in the last two years.
Fitment and Compatibility
The AGPA72 is catalogued by Accossato for the front of the Triumph Speedmaster 800 of 2003 and 2004 and the Speedmaster 900 from 2005 to 2015. Check the number of front calipers on your machine, since one box equips one. Accossato lists the AGPA76 at the rear for the same years, and the AGPA29 at the front of the 1200 from 2018. The AGPA72 also comes in Organic, EV1 and EV2.
Road Approval
We have no German ABE or road certificate for this pad. It is sold for track and competition riding.
Scope of Delivery
