DescriptionThe whole story▼
In the Alps, on Sicily or in southern Spain, many of the motorcycles rented out for a week of touring are large adventure bikes, and the Multistrada 1200 is a typical example. Rental and guided-tour companies know such bikes well, including the small damage they collect when a guest drops one in a hotel car park or at a fuel stop. For them, a replacement part that can be fitted quickly is part of the business. Accossato's AGS200 is a black clutch lever in the original form, listed for the Multistrada 1200 from 2010 to 2017.
Key Features
- Original-type replacement clutch lever for the Ducati Multistrada 1200
- Model years 2010 to 2017 according to Accossato
- Black
- Fitted on the left, operates the clutch
- Developed by Accossato for good value for money
- The manufacturing process, Accossato says, increases resistance after damage or a fall
- One lever
- No ABE or test mark held; sold for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
For a rental fleet, as for a private owner, the attraction of an original-type spare is that nobody notices it has been changed. The AGS200 follows the form of the lever Ducati fitted to the Multistrada 1200, and Accossato supplies it in black, the colour its list names for this bike. The company designed these replacements with value for money in mind and states that its production process gives them higher resistance after damage or a crash. It publishes no further technical information, and our description stops there too.
Keeping a Hire Fleet Rolling
A well-run rental company follows the same routine every time a bike comes back. The Multistrada 1200 is walked round with the checklist from the handover, the tyres and the chain are inspected, and every new scratch is compared with the photos taken on departure day. A bent clutch lever is one of the most frequent findings. With a spare on the shelf the repair is quick: the pivot is cleaned and given a thin film of grease, the new lever goes in, and then comes the step that matters most, the function test. The clutch has to free and engage exactly as before, and the clutch switch must be checked, because on many bikes the starter will not turn with a gear engaged unless the switch registers the lever being pulled. Only then is the bike ready for the next guest. The routine is worth copying if you are the one renting: photograph both levers when you collect the bike and look at them again before handing back the keys.
Fitment and Compatibility
The AGS200 appears on Accossato's list for the Multistrada 1200 from 2010 to 2017, which makes it the only replacement clutch lever named for the 2017 model year. For 2010 to 2016 the silver AGS199 is listed as well, so choose by the colour of the lever on your bike and hold it against the product photos before ordering. The brake side is covered by the black AGD209. At Inter-Pace, the AGS200 is also listed for the Diavel, the Monster 1200 and the Streetfighter 848. Accossato's CNC levers EDF099 and ESH011 are there for owners who want an upgrade rather than a replacement in the original form.
Road Approval
We have not received any approval papers for the AGS200, so neither an ABE nor a test mark can be shown. Inter-Pace lists it for racing and competition.
