DescriptionThe whole story▼

After a fall, a motorcycle deserves a proper inspection, even when it seems to have got off lightly. On an Aprilia Shiver 750 that has slid along the tarmac, damage at the back can hide behind a scuffed surface: a bent footrest hanger, a twisted brake pedal, a mark on the swingarm. Rear axle sliders exist to take some of that punishment. Accossato offers the PP011 for the Shiver 750 of 2007 to 2016, two black protectors for the rear axle area.

Key Features

  • Rear axle sliders for the Aprilia Shiver 750, 2007 to 2016
  • Accossato rear fork protection PP011
  • Two protectors, left and right
  • Aluminium and plastic, black
  • Spacers, screws and all mounting parts included, according to Accossato
  • Designed as a replaceable sacrificial part
  • Also listed for the Dorsoduro 750 and Dorsoduro 1200
  • No German ABE on file; for track and competition

Construction and Material Quality

The PP011 pairs aluminium with plastic and is supplied in black. The kit contains two protectors, one for each side, and Accossato adds the spacers, screws and other parts needed to mount them. In a fall, rear sliders are intended to make the first contact at the back of the bike. By doing so they can reduce the damage to the swingarm and the rear axle area, and they are designed to be swapped once they have done their job.

The Workshop Check After a Fall

Once the Shiver 750 is back in the garage, go over it systematically, ideally on a stand and in good light. Start at the rear: inspect the sliders, then the swingarm, chain and sprocket, the rear brake pedal and the footrests. Spin the wheel and listen for rubbing or ticking. Test the rear brake before riding, because a bent pedal or a damaged hose can change the way it works. Move on to the front, look at the handlebar, the levers and the fork, and turn the bars from one lock to the other. Check the frame and bodywork for cracks, and look under the bike the next day for fresh drips. Replace a slider that is badly worn, cracked or bent, and check its fixing too. If anything looks doubtful, have a workshop examine the bike before you ride it again.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's application list gives the PP011 for the Shiver 750 from 2007 to 2016. The same rear sliders appear in our shop for the Dorsoduro 750 and the Dorsoduro 1200. For the Shiver 750, Accossato also offers the PF031 front axle sliders and the TP052 crash pads. Please match your bike with the list before ordering.

Road Approval

The PP011 is not covered by a German ABE or a test report that we could hand over, and we list it for racing and track days.
