DescriptionThe whole story▼
Not every motocross track is carved from clay or sand. Across Europe, plenty of club meetings are still held on farmland, with the course marked out on a grass field for a weekend. On a Husqvarna FC 450 the first laps on fresh grass can feel like riding on wet soap, especially early in the morning, and the track changes completely as the turf is torn up. The rider's feet have a lot to do. Accossato makes enlarged footpegs in Ergal for the FC 450 of 2023 to 2026, in orange, blue or black.

Construction and Material Quality
According to Accossato, these are enlarged footpegs made of Ergal and intended for motocross, enduro and off-road motorcycles. Ergal is a high-strength aluminium alloy. Beyond the material and the enlarged size the maker gives no technical details, so we keep to those two facts. A larger peg gives the boot more to rest on, which is welcome when the soles are wet and slippery. The set holds both pegs, one per side, and the colour is chosen as the variant: orange, blue or black for the current FC 450.
When the Track Is a Field
Grass offers very little grip until it is worn away. On the opening laps the rear tyre of the FC 450 spins easily, and the strength of the engine becomes a problem rather than an advantage; experienced riders go up a gear, open the throttle gently and look for the darker lines where the soil is starting to show. Standing helps on the straights, since it lets the bike move freely beneath the rider when the rear steps out. Dew makes the first race of the morning the most slippery, and boots soon turn wet and smooth.
As the day goes on, the field becomes a proper track. Ruts form in the turns, the braking areas break up and the surface grows rougher with every race, so the riding changes from delicate to physical. Through it all the feet are the link between rider and bike: sliding a little on wet grass in the morning, working hard through the ruts by the afternoon. Broad pegs give the soles more to stand on in both conditions. After the meeting, wash the grass and soil out of the peg pivots before they dry in.
Fitment and Compatibility
This footpeg set, the FR809, is listed by Accossato for FC 450 model years 2023 to 2026. For older bikes there are two other sets: the FR795 for 2014 and 2015 and the FR798 for 2016 to 2022. Because the year makes the difference, confirm it before ordering, compare the photos and colour choices, and send us a message if you have questions. The FR809 is also listed with us for the FC 250, the FE 501 and the KTM 150 EXC.
Road Approval
For this set we have neither an ABE nor any other approval, and so it is intended for competition.
