DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Yamaha WR 250 X is a road supermoto, but it shares much of its chassis with the WR 250 R dual-sport, and some owners take it onto gravel roads and dirt tracks. Accossato lists its AGPP106 rear pad for the WR 250 X of 2008 to 2016, and this listing is the Off-road sintered (STMX) compound. It is intended for riders whose WR 250 X regularly meets dust, mud or loose surfaces and who want a rear pad designed for those conditions.

Key Features

  • AGPP106 rear pad in STMX compound for off-road use
  • Listed for the Yamaha WR 250 X, 2008 to 2016
  • Accossato's compound for off-road riders
  • Suited to dust, gravel and mud
  • Intended for dirt excursions and trail days
  • One box for the rear caliper
  • OR and ST also available

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato describes STMX as its compound for off-road riders. The company has a strong background in off-road sport, including an Enduro World Championship title in 1985. Its general aims of low wear, fade resistance and strong braking apply here too.

Dirt Excursions

On gravel roads and dirt tracks, the rear brake is used differently: to control speed on loose descents, to steer the bike with the rear and to settle it before ruts. Dust and grit are constantly thrown onto the rear disc and pads. STMX is designed for this environment, keeping the rear brake usable when the surface is loose and dirty. For WR 250 X owners who regularly leave the tarmac, it is the rear compound intended for that use.

Cleaning After Dirt

After a dusty or muddy ride, clean the caliper thoroughly, check pad thickness and inspect the disc for grooves. Grit left in the caliper accelerates wear.

Fitment and Compatibility

AGPP106 appears in Accossato's list for the WR 250 X across 2008 to 2016, while the front of the bike takes AGPA72. The single rear caliper needs one box. Dust packs into every gap after a dirt excursion, so blow out and wash the caliper before the old pads come out, and clean the pistons thoroughly before they are pressed back. Check the disc for scoring left by grit, check the fluid, and pump the pedal until it is hard. Bed the new pads in on a firm surface before heading back onto loose ground.

Road Approval

We have no German ABE or test documentation for this pad. STMX is sold for off-road competition use.

Scope of Delivery

Two AGPP106 pads in STMX compound, one set for the rear caliper.
