DescriptionThe whole story▼

The MT-10 SP adds semi-active suspension and a two-tone paint job to Yamaha's naked superbike, and it tends to attract owners who want the showcase version of the range parked outside their house as much as ridden hard on a weekend. A quiet residential street at night brings its own hazard: poor lighting, a kerb that is harder to judge than in daylight, and a neighbour's bin left slightly further into the road than usual. Accossato lists the PF046 front axle sliders for the MT-10 SP of 2017 and 2018.

Key Features

  • Front axle sliders for the Yamaha MT-10 SP, 2017 and 2018
  • Accossato PF046, one protector for each side
  • Aluminium and plastic, black
  • Spacers, screws and remaining mounting parts in the kit, as stated by Accossato
  • PP019 rear sliders and TP025 crash pads also listed for this bike
  • Designed to be the first point of contact if the bike tips over
  • Same pair listed for the standard MT-10, R1, R1M and R6
  • No German ABE on file; offered for racing and competition

Construction and Material Quality

Each PF046 slider pairs aluminium with plastic and is finished in black, sized for the left and right side of the front wheel. Accossato's kit holds the spacers, screws and the remaining parts it lists as necessary for mounting. Parked at night or ridden home in poor light, the sliders are there to be first to the ground if the bike tips over, which can limit what the fork and axle area take as a result. A slider that has clearly absorbed an impact should be swapped for a new one.

A Dark Street and a Misjudged Kerb

Residential streets after dark hide the small details a rider relies on in daylight: the exact height of a kerb, a bin left further out than usual, a drain cover that sits slightly lower than the surrounding tarmac. Pulling the MT-10 SP into a tight gap between parked cars, with only a streetlamp or two for reference, asks for more caution than the same manoeuvre in daylight would. A kerb misjudged by a few centimetres can catch a footrest or a wheel just enough to unbalance the bike at walking pace, and a rider focused on finding space between two cars may not see it coming. If the bike does go over this way, the sliders take the first contact; check them, the mirror and the lever before leaving it for the night.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the MT-10 SP, 2017 and 2018 are the years Accossato names for the PF046, and we list it the same way. This bike also takes the PP019 at the rear and the TP025 on the fairing. Beyond the SP, the identical PF046 appears in our shop against the standard MT-10, the R1, the R1M and the R6, since the design serves several Yamahas built around the same front end. If your SP falls outside those two years, ask us before ordering.

Road Approval

We hold no ABE or other test document for the PF046, so it is supplied for racing and competition use.
