DescriptionThe whole story▼

AGPA92EV2 is Accossato's racing rear pad for the Triumph Thunderbird Storm, listed for 2011 to 2018. The EV2 racing compound is designed for competition, where the brakes work hard through qualifying and races. On a cruiser this is a niche choice, meant for a Storm entered in closed-course events. For road use, the Organic or Sintered versions of this pad are the appropriate choices.

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato lists EV2 racing among its top competition compounds. It is designed for heavy, repeated use in qualifying and races. Accossato's pads are designed to limit heat build-up and to wear evenly over an event.

Qualifying on a Cruiser

In qualifying, every braking point matters. On a heavy machine like the Storm, the rear brake helps stabilise the bike under hard braking and during corner entry. A racing compound is designed to respond consistently lap after lap. Before qualifying, make sure the brakes are bled, the discs are clean and the pads are properly bedded in. On the out lap, warm the brakes gradually before using full pressure. A consistent rear brake makes it easier to repeat the same line and braking point on every lap, which is what a good qualifying time is built on.

Between Sessions

Check pad thickness, look at the rear disc for signs of overheating and note any change in pedal travel. Keep a spare set in the pit box.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the rear pad AGPA92 for the Thunderbird Storm over its 2011 to 2018 model years; at the front the maker names AGPA58. One box holds two pads, enough for the single rear caliper. Fit them as a pair, push the pistons back only after cleaning them, and bed the new pads in during a practice session before qualifying rather than on the first flying lap.

Road Approval

AGPA92EV2 has no German ABE and no test mark. It is sold for racing.

Scope of Delivery
