DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato also produces the AGPA72 plate in EV2 racing, its top racing compound, and that plate is listed for the front of the Triumph America from 2003 to 2016. On a cruiser this is a specialist choice. It is intended for owners who take their America to events with a stopwatch, such as sprints or club track sessions, and who want a pad designed for repeated hard stops at high temperature rather than for everyday riding.
Key Features
- AGPA72 front pad for the Triumph America, 2003 to 2016
- America 800 and America 900 per Accossato
- EV2 racing compound, article AGPA72EV2
- Accossato's top competition compound
- Made for repeated hard stops when hot
- Not intended for daily cruising
- Two pads for one caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato positions EV2 as a top racing compound. The company designs it to deliver high stopping power at the temperatures reached in competition while controlling heat to avoid fade. Accossato also claims long life for its pads. For a cruiser, this is the most extreme option on the AGPA72 plate.
A Cruiser With a Stopwatch
Some riders enjoy taking unusual machines to the track or to sprint events. On a Triumph America used this way, the front brake works much harder than on the road: stops come from higher speeds, one after the other, and the disc gets hot. EV2 racing is designed for that kind of use, with a strong, consistent bite at high temperature. It is not the right pad for relaxed cruising or cold-weather commuting, where the OR and ST versions of this plate are more suitable. For spirited road riding with the occasional trackday, EV1 is the in-between option.
Event Preparation
Before any track event, check pad thickness, disc condition and fluid level, and bed the new pads in properly on the road first. After the event, if the America goes back to everyday duty, consider refitting a road compound.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA72 plate for the front brake of the America 800 (2003 to 2006) and the America 900 (2007 to 2016). One box covers one caliper, so check how many are fitted. The rear uses AGPA76 for the same years.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or approval documentation for AGPA72EV2. It is sold for racing use only.
