DescriptionThe whole story▼
A remote adjuster is only useful if you can use it at speed without thinking. On a Panigale 1299 S, a bike built for fast circuits, that means knowing exactly where on the lap your left hand is free and how large a change to make. Accossato's RA002 is a folding brake lever for the 1299 S of 2015 to 2018 with a 90-degree remote adjuster, designed so the lever setting can be changed while riding, without letting go of the throttle.
Key Features
- Folding brake lever with remote adjuster for the Panigale 1299 S, 2015 to 2018
- Adjustment made with the left hand while riding
- 90-degree remote adjuster, holder in 35 mm or 60 mm
- Mounts on the original brake master cylinder
- Hinged blade, RST or NRST
- Seven anodised blade colours, black base
- CNC-machined aluminium
Construction and Material Quality
The RA002's lever has the two-part layout of Accossato's folding range, a base anodised black and a blade on a hinge, both milled from aluminium. The blade is available in seven colours, from black and silver to orange and green, with or without the RST lightening cut-out. The 90-degree remote adjuster comes with a holder in 35 mm or 60 mm, a choice you make when ordering.
Picking the Straight
Before the first session, sit on the Panigale 1299 S in the garage, in your riding position, and practise reaching for the remote adjuster with your left hand. Do it with your riding gloves on and your eyes closed. It sounds excessive, but on track you will have a second or two at most, and fumbling for the adjuster while travelling fast is not something to discover on the day.
Then choose the place on the lap. The longest straight is the obvious candidate, ideally one where the bike is upright and stable and the left hand has nothing else to do. Change the setting by a small amount, ride a lap, judge the result in the braking zones you know well, and only then decide on the next step. The 1299 S gives its rider plenty to think about; the remote adjuster should become a routine, not another distraction. And if a lap ends in the gravel, the hinged blade has a chance to fold instead of snapping.
Fitment and Compatibility
The RA002 is listed for the Panigale 1299 S from 2015 to 2018, the Brazilian version included, and it replaces the lever on the original brake master cylinder. For the clutch side, Accossato lists only its fixed ESH011 for these years, and the fixed EDF099 is the alternative brake lever for riders who do not need a remote adjuster.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented for this lever; we sell it for track use.
