Two and a half kilos come off the tail of the motorcycle, and what replaces them is named after a rally. Spark calls this silencer the Dakar, and the shape is deliberate: a modern titanium case drawn to recall the round, blunt cans that hung off desert bikes when the event still ran to Senegal.
Key Features
- Euro5+ homologated slip-on for the Yamaha Ténéré 700 and Ténéré 700 World Raid.
- Titanium case, Dakar design.
- Spark gives 2,3 kg for this slip-on against 4,8 kg for the standard part.
- Standard lateral routing — the high-mounted version is GYA1602.
- Compatible with the centre stand and with side bags.
- Approved for road use, no track-only restriction.
Where the Name Comes From
Spark is explicit about the reference. The brief was to use current materials and current welding, and still land on a silhouette that reads as rally rather than sportbike. On a Ténéré that matters more than it would on most machines — the bike is styled around a rally-raid idea, and a flat, angular sports can sitting under the tail undoes it.
The result is a short, wide titanium case with a rolled tail. It is not a replica of anything, and Spark does not claim it is.
What Titanium Buys Here
The standard Ténéré silencer is a heavy assembly — 4,8 kg by Spark's own measurement, most of it in the catalytic section and the outer shell. The Spark article weighs 2,3 kg. That is roughly half, and it comes off the very back of the bike, behind the rear axle, where mass has the most leverage over how the motorcycle changes direction.
On a road-biased Ténéré the difference is easy to feel when the bike is pushed upright off the side stand. Off road, on a bike that gets picked up more than its owner would like, it is more than a feeling.
Standard Routing
This is the version that keeps the silencer low and lateral, in roughly the place the original sits. It is the quieter-looking of the two and the one to choose if the bike carries luggage most of the time.
Spark states compatibility with the centre stand and with side bags, which is not a given on this motorcycle — a good deal of the aftermarket for the Ténéré forces a choice between an exhaust and a set of panniers. Here there is no choice to make.
Three Horsepower, and Where They Sit
Spark's bench figures show around three horsepower more between 9000 and 9500 rpm. That is the top of the CP2 twin's range, which means the gain shows up when the bike is being ridden hard on a road rather than trickling along a trail.
The measurement was taken on a standard motorcycle with the original ECU untouched. No remap was involved, and none is needed for this slip-on.
Fitment & Compatibility
Yamaha Ténéré 700 and Ténéré 700 World Raid, 2019 to 2026, covering the Euro4, Euro5 and Euro5+ machines. The same slip-on in the dark finish is GYA1601DOM. The high-mounted routing is GYA1602TOM in titanium and GYA1602DOM in dark. If you want the catalyst out as well, the racing manifold is GYA8504 — on Euro5 bikes it needs the extension cable 0CAVO003 to keep the lambda sensor connected.
Road Approval
Euro5+ approved. The homologation was issued by the Italian Ministry of Transport after noise and bench testing, and the article carries the approval marking. Road legal as supplied.
