DescriptionThe whole story▼
Carbon on a naked bike is not hidden under a fairing — it is the fairing. LighTech lists the CARA0660 as a swingarm protectors, glossy carbon. Much of the range is cured in an autoclave, which is what LighTech credits for its strength. Made in Italy, like the rest of the range.
Key Features
- Swingarm Protectors in carbon
- Made in Italy
- 450 g
- In many cases autoclave-cured, which LighTech credits for its strength
- Pair
- Lighter than the standard component, according to LighTech
What Is Included
A detail on the CARA0660. LighTech names the quantity itself — a pair. Depending on the part, the CARA0660 is bonded with a little silicone at the support points or screwed on with the fasteners in the box; LighTech does not promise one or the other for every item. On cleaning, LighTech is specific: neutral detergents, nothing stronger. We hold LighTech as a stock range, so repeat orders are routine.
Application
LighTech lists the CARA0660 for a Aprilia TUONO 660, model years 2020 to 2026. Carbon parts are moulded to the shape of one bodywork generation — a part from a different year will not sit flush. If your TUONO 660 is not on the list, ask us — LighTech covers more vehicles than are listed here.
Weight and Surface
Autoclave work is what separates a structural part from a decorative one. The CARA0660 answers both: LighTech states its carbon parts are lighter than the components they replace, and much of the range is cured in an autoclave — which is what the manufacturer credits for the strength. The swingarm protectors arrives with a glossy finish. Nothing here needs to be taken on trust: the claims are LighTech's own, and labelled as such.
Supplied As
You receive the CARA0660 as a pair, glossy finish. Fixings as supplied by LighTech. Silicone is not included.
In the Workshop
Dry-fit the swingarm protectors first, then fix it — that order saves the surface. Do not overtighten: carbon takes compression badly at a single point. If you would rather not do it yourself, our workshop in Munich fits it.
Road Approval
On approval documents. There is no ABE and no parts certificate in the box with the CARA0660. A cover or panel that replaces a part like for like does not normally raise a question, but your inspection body decides, not us.
