DescriptionThe whole story▼
Engineered from aerospace-grade aluminium and finished to exacting tolerances, the K-Tech 25IDS Open Cartridge Kit transforms the front-end feel of the Ducati Panigale 1299 into something genuinely race-ready. Where the factory cartridge leaves headroom unexplored, the 25mm Independent Damping System delivers independent compression and rebound control that a serious rider can actually feel and tune.
Key Features
- 25mm Independent Damping System (25IDS) with 30 clicks of adjustment across both compression and rebound — precise, repeatable, and rider-tuneable at the trackside paddock or in the garage
- Aerospace-grade aluminium construction throughout, hard-anodised and super-finished for outstanding wear resistance and long service life
- Increased stroke compared to the original cartridge, unlocking a greater range of suspension travel and improved bump absorption
- Suggested baseline settings — 12 clicks compression, 18 clicks rebound, 8 mm preload — give an immediate starting point without guesswork
- Designed as a direct-fit upgrade for the Panigale 1299 (2015–2018), replacing the OEM cartridge internals without chassis modification
Premium Build Quality
K-Tech has built its reputation on materials selection and manufacturing precision, and the 25IDS cartridge reflects that fully. The body and internals are machined from aircraft-grade aluminium alloy, then hard-anodised to create a surface that resists the abrasion inherent in a working fork cartridge. The super-finished internal surfaces reduce friction at low shaft velocities — exactly where most riders feel harshness over small road imperfections — and contribute to the cartridge's sensitivity across the full stroke range.
The 25 mm internal diameter is a meaningful step up in oil-flow capacity compared to narrower OEM units, allowing the Independent Damping System to work as intended: compression and rebound circuits operate independently, so adjusting one characteristic does not inadvertently alter the other. That independence is the defining advantage of the IDS architecture over conventional cartridge designs.
On Road and On Track
With 125 mm of stroke and a total length of 713.25 mm, the cartridge is dimensioned for the Panigale 1299's chassis geometry. Whether the bike is used for spirited road riding or regular circuit sessions, the 30-click adjustment range covers everything from a compliant road setup to a stiff, quick-steering track configuration. Changes are made via external adjusters — no tools required for click adjustments — making mid-session tweaks straightforward.
K-Tech recommends installation by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre to ensure correct assembly, fluid specification, and baseline setting. Compatible fork springs from the K-Tech 36-260 series must be ordered separately; the cartridge kit does not include springs.
