DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ESR 001 answers for the RSV4's electronic fork actuators once the semi-active front end has been replaced.
Key Features
- Aprilia RSV4 (2021–2026)
- Answers for the front fork actuators
- No suspension warning on the panel
- Plugs into Aprilia's own connectors
- For a conversion to conventional cartridges
- Standard forks refit at any time
What Is Inside a Semi-Active Fork
A solenoid valve at the top of each leg, driven by the suspension module and adjusted many times a second. Everything else about the fork is conventional and the valves are what make it electronic.
Why Anyone Removes It
A race conversion fits closed cartridge internals set by hand and by data rather than by an algorithm. At competition level a fixed, known damping curve is worth more than a clever variable one.
The Module Notices Immediately
Coil continuity in each valve is checked at every start. With the actuators gone the suspension module reports a fault and the panel carries a warning permanently.
What This Supplies
The electrical load the module expects from both legs, so the check passes and nothing is stored. The rest of the electronics carry on unaffected.
Not a Performance Part
It adds nothing on its own. It exists so that a conversion which does add something is not accompanied by a warning lamp for the rest of the bike's life.
A Chassis Built to Be Changed
Rake, swingarm pivot and engine position all move on an RSV4, which is why a serious suspension conversion is worth doing here rather than being wasted on a frame that cannot be tuned.
A Bidirectional Quickshifter
Standard on the current bike and unaffected by any of this. The suspension module and the engine electronics are separate systems that happen to share a display.
Nothing Cut
Aprilia's own connectors at both fork legs, with no adapters and no splices anywhere in the loom.
Reversible
Unplug it, refit the standard forks and the semi-active system works exactly as it did before.
Competition Use
Removing electronically managed suspension from a road bike is a decision to make for a reason rather than by default.
