DescriptionThe whole story▼

Rain and luggage change how a rear brake is used. On a fully loaded Yamaha FJR1300AE in wet weather, riders tend to lean on the rear more gently and more often. Accossato's AGPP121 rear pad in the Sintered (ST) compound is designed for that. Accossato says it keeps a high, constant grip level at high and low temperatures and grips well in the wet. The listing covers the FJR 1300 AE from 2016 to 2019.

Key Features

  • Accossato AGPP121 rear pad, Sintered (ST) compound
  • Listed for the Yamaha FJR1300AE, 2016-2019
  • Accossato: stable grip cold or hot, good in the rain
  • For wet-weather touring and heavy loads
  • Predictable pedal feel on slippery roads
  • Two pads per box for the rear caliper
  • OR is the alternative

Construction and Material Quality

The sintered compound is Accossato's choice for changeable conditions. Its stated strengths are consistent grip across temperatures and good performance on a wet disc. Accossato adds its general claims: long life, heat under control for less fade and strong stopping power.

Wet Roads and a Heavy Bike

On a wet road, grip is limited and a heavy tourer needs a gentle, predictable brake. Many FJR1300AE riders use the rear brake to settle the bike before a corner or to scrub off speed on a slippery descent, leaving the front tyre with as much grip as possible for steering. That only works well if the rear pad responds the same way every time. The ST compound is designed for that consistency, even when spray covers the disc. When the AE's suspension is set for a passenger and luggage, the bike stays level under braking, and a rear brake that you can dose finely completes that calm behaviour. For dry, solo riding, the OR version is gentler on the disc.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato names AGPP121 for the rear of the FJR 1300 AE, 2016 to 2019, and AGPA21 for the front. One box covers the rear caliper. Before the wet season, check the rear disc, clean the piston before retracting it, check the fluid and keep grease away from the disc. After fitting, pump the pedal until firm and bed the pads in progressively.

Road Approval

We hold no ABE or Prüfzeichen for AGPP121ST; it is supplied for motorsport use.
