Where It Sits
Öhlins publishes 31 mm, 139 mm for 01460-77 — the dimensions are the identity of the part. The preload tube transfers the spring load to the adjuster and sets the installed length. Öhlins builds click adjusters with defined detents so a setting can be written down and returned to. Hydraulic preload adjusters are sealed and pressurised; they are replaced as a unit.
Original Öhlins Part
Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure: a wrong part in a pressurised unit is an expensive lesson.
Identifying the Right Part
01460-77 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. dimension a 31 mm, dimension b 139 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. The adjuster knob is what the rider touches, and Öhlins colour-codes it by function. Öhlins offers several lengths so the same body can serve different springs.
Fitting and Setup Service
Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.
