DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP CJP 082H lets the Diavel's mixture be set for the conditions and the state of tune rather than for every market the model was sold into.
Key Features
- Ducati Diavel (2011–2019)
- Fully programmable fuel map, written on a PC
- Complete two-axis management: engine speed and load
- For engines with an aftermarket exhaust or air filter
- Plug-and-play with model-specific wiring
- Unplugs at any time, nothing is written to the motorcycle
A Cruiser That Revs
Ducati put a superbike engine in a long, low chassis and detuned it for torque. The result behaves like nothing else in either category.
Five Hundred Grams
Heavier than the preset module because there is more inside it. On any motorcycle that is a mounting question rather than a weight question.
The Baseline Ride
Ride the motorcycle with an empty map and note where it hesitates, surges or feels flat. That list is the specification for the first mapping session.
The First Session
Fit the unit, leave the map empty, ride. Then log a few runs, look at where the mixture is wrong and start with the region that irritated you most.
The Injector Is Standard
No fuel hardware changes. The pump, the rail, the regulator and the injectors are all the factory's, and the unit only alters how long they open.
Rich Has a Cost Too
Washed bores, fouled plugs and wasted fuel. The target is correct rather than generous, which is another reason the wideband is not optional.
Backups Off the Laptop
Copy the good maps somewhere else. Laptops in paddocks get dropped, rained on and left behind, and a map is easier to lose than to recreate.
Overrun
A closed throttle at speed is a region where small changes are felt as popping or as engine braking character. It is worth mapping deliberately rather than by accident.
Against Reflashing
A remap of the original controller reaches ignition, the limiter and the rider aids, and it is written into the motorcycle where a workshop will find it. This is narrower, reversible and belongs to the box rather than the bike.
