DescriptionThe whole story▼

Before the Hornet name returned, this was simply the CB500F: Honda's sensible A2 naked, sold in large numbers and ridden hard by people learning what they were doing. Many are now on their second or third owner.

Key Features

  • Central adjuster wheel, reachable from the riding position
  • Folding blade that swings clear instead of snapping off
  • Engineered break point inside the two-finger zone
  • Phosphated pivot seat, free of play from new
  • CNC-machined from solid aluminium, black anodised
  • Road legal in Germany under ABE No. KBA 91203

Material and Pivot

Solid aluminium, machined, black anodised, phosphated at the pivot seat. On a used bike the original clutch lever has usually picked up play, and play in the pivot makes the friction point feel further away than it is.

A Second-Hand Bike Deserves a Fresh Control

The cheapest way to make an older CB500F feel new again is not paint. It is replacing the controls the previous owner wore out, because those are what the rider touches on every single journey.

Two Fingers at a Junction

Bringing the blade in makes two-finger operation practical, which leaves the remaining fingers on the grip. In stop-start traffic that is the difference between a relaxed left hand and a tired one.

Road Approval

Approved for German roads under ABE No. KBA 91203, downloadable from this page. No entry in the documents and no testing-organisation inspection are needed.

Scope of Delivery
