DescriptionThe whole story▼

A Shiver 750 parked on a street that falls away to the right is a bike waiting to tip over. On its side stand it leans left, but if the road slopes the other way it stands more upright than it should, and a gust of wind, the draught from a passing lorry or someone brushing past can be enough. Aprilia's middleweight naked, sold from 2007 to 2017, then lands on its right side, and the front brake lever is often the first thing to touch the ground. Accossato's AGD13 replaces it with a silver lever in the original form.

Key Features

  • Front brake lever for the Aprilia Shiver 750, 2007 to 2017
  • Covers the ABS model as well
  • Original shape, in silver
  • Right handlebar, front brake
  • Accossato: greater resistance after damage or a fall, thanks to the manufacturing process
  • Developed as a good-value replacement
  • One lever
  • No German ABE on file; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

The AGD13 is an original spare parts type in Accossato's terms, a front brake lever shaped after the one the Shiver 750 was delivered with. Accossato developed it with value for money in mind and says its manufacturing process gives it greater resistance after damage or a fall, a claim we pass on as the maker's own. It is silver. Accossato gives no other technical details, and we do not add any of our own.

Parking on a Camber

When parking a Shiver 750 on a sloping street, let the ground fall away towards the side stand, so the bike leans more firmly onto it instead of standing up. Nose uphill and in first gear, it cannot roll forward and knock the stand back up. On soft tarmac in summer, or on grass, a small plate under the stand foot spreads the load. If the bike does fall to the right, check the brake lever before riding off. A bent lever may have less travel before it reaches the throttle, and one broken short gives the fingers less to pull on. Either way it is replaced, not bent back. After fitting the new lever, check that the brake light comes on and that the pressure point is firm and consistent while the bike is still standing.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the AGD13 for the Shiver 750 from 2007 to 2017 and names the ABS version separately for 2007 to 2016. For the clutch side of the same bike there is the AGS16, also silver and in original shape; the brake lever sits on the right, the clutch lever on the left. The AGD13 is also catalogued at Inter-Pace for the Dorsoduro 750 and the Mana 850, and Accossato's CNC brake lever EDF023 is the alternative for owners of a Shiver 750 who want a different shape.

Road Approval

No ABE and no test mark are documented for the AGD13 on our side, so it is offered for circuit and competition use.
