DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Explorer is the long-range touring version of the Tiger 1200 GT, and Accossato lists its rear pad AGPP91 for it from 2022 to 2023. AGPP91OR uses the Organic compound: a soft, quiet mixture that looks after the rear disc. It suits Explorer owners whose trips are mostly on tarmac and who spend plenty of time at low speed, in towns along the route, at fuel stations and in hotel car parks.

Key Features

  • Rear pads AGPP91 for the Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Explorer, 2022 to 2023
  • Organic compound, SKU AGPP91OR
  • Accossato: long service life, reduced disc wear
  • Smooth response at walking pace
  • Quiet in towns and villages
  • Protects the rear disc on long trips
  • Other compounds for this pad: ST and STMX
  • No approval certificate on file; competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato says the Organic compound keeps performing over a long time while limiting wear on the disc. On a long-range tourer that covers large distances, a rear disc that lasts longer is a real benefit. Accossato's pads are also designed to keep heat and fading under control.

Low Speed on a Big Tourer

A long-range adventure tourer can be a handful at low speed, particularly with a full tank. Rolling through a village, turning around at the end of a dead-end road or easing into a parking space all rely on gentle rear brake control. The Organic compound is designed for this soft, progressive engagement. It works well from cold, which matters in the morning when the bike has been standing overnight, and it runs quietly. On a tour where you stop in a different town each evening, those small low-speed moments add up, and a calm rear brake makes the heavy Explorer easier to handle when you are tired after a long day in the saddle.

Between Trips

Before a long trip, check pad thickness, disc condition and fluid. After returning, clean off road dirt and inspect the rear caliper.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPP91 for the rear brake of the Tiger 1200 GT Explorer in 2022 and 2023. The data we hold does not include a front pad for this model. One box contains two pads for the single rear caliper. After fitting, pump the pedal until it is firm and bed the pads in with a few gentle stops.

Road Approval

We have no ABE and no test mark for this pad. AGPP91OR is offered for competition use.

Scope of Delivery

Two Organic rear pads, one set for the rear caliper.
