DescriptionThe whole story▼
AGPA29EV1 is Accossato's front pad for the 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 XCA in the EV1 street/track compound. It is aimed at riders who enjoy the XCA on winding roads and ride it with ambition: early starts on empty mountain passes, brisk group rides, perhaps an occasional trackday. The compound gives a firmer, more immediate bite than the touring pads while remaining usable every day on the road.
Key Features
- Front pads AGPA29 for the Triumph Tiger 800 XCA, 2018
- EV1 street/track compound, SKU AGPA29EV1
- Accossato: excellent grip for street riding and amateur track use
- Firmer, more immediate bite
- For ambitious riders on winding roads
- Can cope with an occasional trackday
- Also available as OR, ST and STMX
- No approval documents; for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
On the maker's own reckoning, EV1 street/track is the mixture that pairs generous grip on public roads with the ability to survive amateur laps on a circuit. Fitted to a 2018 Tiger 800 XCA, it answers the lever sooner and more firmly than a touring compound would. Like all pads from the Piedmont firm, it is built to keep heat and therefore fade within limits, and to wear down at a steady, predictable pace.
Early Morning on an Empty Pass
There is nothing quite like an empty mountain pass early in the morning. On a Tiger 800 XCA ridden with some pace, the front brake works hard at every hairpin, slowing a tall bike with long suspension travel again and again. EV1 is designed for this kind of ambitious road riding, with a firmer response that makes it easier to judge each stop. It still works in everyday riding, so you do not need a separate set of pads for the commute. If you take the XCA to a trackday, prepare with fresh fluid and clean discs.
Long Travel, Smooth Hands
Long-travel forks dive deeply under a sharp squeeze. Load the front gradually, let the suspension settle, then add pressure; release gently as you turn in so the XCA stays calm.
Fitment and Compatibility
The 2018 model year is the only XCA year linked to AGPA29 in Accossato's list. For XCA bikes from 2015 to 2017 the front pad is AGPA72, while the rear pad for 2015 through 2020 is AGPP89. You receive one set per box, covering a single caliper, so count the calipers on the front wheel of your XCA before ordering.
Road Approval
AGPA29EV1 has no German ABE and no test certificate. It is sold for motorsport use.
