Six point one kilos. That is what the Spark GBM8821T takes off a BMW S1000RR — the standard exhaust weighs 10.5 kg, this one weighs 4.4 kg, and all of it comes from the highest and rearmost part of the motorcycle. Spark measures the system at 107 dB, which is the number that gets you through scrutineering at most European circuits without an argument.
Key Features
- Complete titanium system — titanium collector plus Konix Evo silencer — at 4.4 kg against 10.5 kg standard.
- 6.1 kg removed, and it comes off high and far back where the bike feels it most.
- Spark measures 107 dB without a dB killer fitted.
- Konix Evo silencer: conical titanium case, sharp-edged detailing, carbon end cap developed with a Maranello design studio.
- Mounting kit includes the holder that fixes the silencer to the original rear frame.
- Works with the standard fairings and with both factory and aftermarket radiators.
- Fits the S1000RR, M1000RR, M1000R and — per Spark's own listing — the S1000R.
Build Quality & Materials
The collector is titanium, not stainless, and that is where most of the 6.1 kg comes from. Titanium survives the heat cycling of a four-cylinder superbike without distorting, resists the corrosion that eventually works through thin steel, and needs roughly half the mass of stainless for the same wall strength. The joints are machined from solid bar rather than pressed, so the sections locate the same way every time the bodywork comes off — which on a race bike happens rather more often than on a road one.
The Konix Evo is Spark's newest silencer, and the shape is the reason it looks expensive: a conical shell is harder to roll and harder to weld cleanly than a parallel one, and the sharp transitions leave a poor seam nowhere to hide. Sleeve, perforated inner tube and inner end cap are all titanium. A titanium skin over steel internals would photograph identically and weigh considerably more.
Performance & Sound
107 dB, measured by Spark without a dB killer. That figure places the Konix Evo version between the Force Evo at 104 dB and the Grid-O at 114 dB — Spark builds all three around the same collector precisely so a rider can pick the number the series demands rather than the one the exhaust happens to make.
The pipe geometry is not a road system scaled up. It comes out of Spark's work with teams in CIV, CEV, British Superbike, the Isle of Man TT and the Endurance World Championship, where the same collectors run a full season under considerably harsher conditions than a track day.
Installation
Spark's own notes, worth reading before ordering:
- Full system for racing use.
- Not compatible with passenger footpegs.
- The mounting kit includes the holder that fixes the silencer to the original rear frame.
- Compatible with the original fairings.
- Compatible with original and aftermarket radiators.
Fitment & Compatibility
BMW S1000RR (2019-2026), M1000RR, M1000R and S1000R. If keeping the pillion pegs matters, the Grid-O version GBM8823T is the one that allows them — this system does not.
Road Approval
There is none. Spark issues no EC certificate for this system and it carries no catalytic converter, so it belongs on a closed circuit and nowhere else.
