DescriptionThe whole story▼
The OZ Piega R aluminium rear wheel delivers a measurable step up in real-world usability on the BMW S1000RR K46, cutting rotational mass to sharpen steering response, improve mid-corner agility, and reduce the effort your suspension needs to manage at every speed. Forged in Italy by OZ's SBK Racing division, the Piega R goes further than the standard Piega wheel in both weight reduction and outright rigidity — making it one of the most practical performance upgrades available for the 2009-2018 S1000RR.
Key Features
- Forged aluminium construction from OZ's SBK Racing department — lighter than the standard Piega series with no compromise in structural integrity.
- Reduced rotational mass directly improves throttle response, braking feel, and corner-entry agility on every ride.
- Classic five-spoke Piega R design available in two anodised finishes: techno black and techno gold.
- Supplied complete with quality bearings, aluminium angled valves, spacers (included where required), and a rear sprocket carrier — ready to fit without hunting for ancillaries.
- Made in Italy to OZ Racing's exacting quality standards for long-term reliability.
- Part number R60976007 for straightforward ordering and reordering.
Performance on the Road and Track
Reducing unsprung and rotational mass is one of the highest-value modifications you can make to a S1000RR. Every kilogram removed from a spinning wheel has a disproportionate effect on acceleration, braking distances, and how quickly the bike changes direction. The Piega R was engineered with this physics in mind: the five-spoke forged structure strips away excess material precisely where it is not needed for stiffness, while retaining the section strength required under hard braking and aggressive cornering loads.
The two anodised colour options — techno black and techno gold — both provide a durable, corrosion-resistant surface that holds its appearance through regular cleaning and seasonal use, making the Piega R a sensible long-term investment as well as a performance one.
Fitment and Compatibility
This rear wheel fits the BMW S1000RR K46 produced between 2009 and 2018 with the original cast wheel. The standard OEM rear sprocket is not compatible with the Piega R carrier; a replacement sprocket will be required. Please confirm your bike has the cast-wheel specification before ordering. Part number: R60976007.
