Measure the old part against them before ordering. Öhlins grinds shims to a flatness tolerance because the faces have to seal against each other. Outer diameter sets the lever the oil works against; thickness sets how hard it resists. A shim is a thin steel washer, and a stack of them is what actually generates damping in an Öhlins unit — the oil has to bend them out of the way to pass.

Genuine Service Part

Öhlins supports its suspension with individual service parts, which is why a fifteen-year-old damper can still be rebuilt to specification. Öhlins keeps service parts available for units long after they leave the current price list. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on. Tell us the damper's model designation and year and we will match the number for you.

Identifying the Right Part

00187-14 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. Öhlins states inner diameter 8 mm, outer diameter 14 mm, thickness 0.25 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Face flatness matters as much as thickness — a shim that does not seal against its neighbour leaks damping. Öhlins stamps and grinds its shims to tolerances a general-purpose washer never holds.

Fitting and Setup Service

Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00187-14

Category: Shims

Inner Diameter: 8 mm

Outer Diameter: 14 mm

Thickness: 0.25 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00187-14_6369b9ff-b672-47ab-b8c6-f94dac7bb908.png?v=1788871375
