Fittings are specific to the hose and the housing they connect. A soft reservoir usually means the bladder has failed rather than the gas has leaked. Hose length is part of the installation and cannot be changed freely.

Why the Original

Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. The part is identical to what Öhlins fits in production — same supplier, same specification. If the unit is already apart, compare the published dimensions with the part in your hand. We can check the number against the Öhlins exploded view before you order — just ask.

Identifying the Right Part

00640-02 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. The published dimensions are dimension a 10 mm, dimension b 12 mm, dimension c 300 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Hose-mounted reservoirs allow installation where a piggyback would foul the chassis. A separating piston or bladder keeps nitrogen and oil apart; if it fails the damping goes with it.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00640-02

Category: Hoses

Dimension A: 10 mm

Dimension B: 12 mm

Dimension C: 300 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00640-02_ba641633-4c38-44d5-852e-afcf0c412c6a.png?v=1788870107
