DescriptionThe whole story▼
Adjustment housing M44.5x1/30, Öhlins part number 21653-06. Hydraulic preload adjusters are sealed and pressurised; they are replaced as a unit.
Key Features
- Thread M44.5x1
- Dimension B 30 mm
- Original Öhlins service part
- Öhlins part number 21653-06
- Dimension A 1 mm
Function
Öhlins gives it as 1 mm, 30 mm; nothing about that is approximate. Click adjusters work through a needle in a seat; the detent spring gives the clicks their feel. A worn adjuster loses its clicks, and with them any chance of a methodical setup. Needle and seat together meter the bleed flow; damage to either changes the whole adjustment range.
Genuine Service Part
Every part in this catalogue is one Öhlins fits itself during assembly and service. The part is identical to what Öhlins fits in production — same supplier, same specification. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise.
How to Be Sure It Fits
21653-06 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. Öhlins states dimension a 1 mm, dimension b 30 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Öhlins publishes the click count for each unit, and a rebuilt adjuster should return it. Hydraulic preload adjusters are sealed and pressurised; they are replaced as a unit.
Fitting and Setup Service
If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.
